Cause I love IRC Its a brilliant tool and works extremely well. I have used it every single day for years. I use it for discussing everything just about.

Mostly I use it for discussing computers and system configurations and things like that though. I am a Linux user so I get help there or help others Ohh and it took me about 35 seconds to set it up all I did was create a new channel on a network I am already on :razz:

 

I need a headset.
The forum would take a hit.
There would be no archival information stored.

 

my opinion on this is all it would do is take people away from here :shock:

irc is ok in its place... I just don't think this is the place to steal people from :evil: :evil: :evil:

when the new forum software comes online, I believe there are plans for a chat channel

I will leave it alone it was just a thought I had.. sorry.

I had never seen a problem with IRC due to forums I visit for Gentoo or Ubuntu has enormous amounts of content as well as IRC channels.. Sorry if I made it seem like that.
