I worked on it today until my back just wouldn't let me anymore. Hopefully I will get the other side on tomorrow.

The thumbnails are the same pics as above, I just gave the short description on the above links so you would know what's going on in the pic.

I was looking at your photos again and noticed all the open space at the end of your street, I would give anything for that, I live down here in this concrete jungle, in Long Beach. It was not like this when I grew up here. Did you create your frame also? Long Live Board Trackers. Have fun Dave
PS: I have family in Klamath Falls.
A man and his tools is an awesome thing to behold. You can be proud of your creation you captured the look of a classic. Have fun, Dave

Ahh yes, the field. I live in a small town of just over 2000 people. the field that borders my back yard is about 200 acres of ryegrass. I live RIGHT on the edge of town...there isn't even a fence along the back yard.

Yes I created/designed this frame and all the rest of the ones I've done. I like the old style but I like a comfortable ride. It's a great combination of both. I have slowed down on the progress and I'm not sure why...just haven't got to it lately. This next set of days off I have should involve some work on it.

If you guys are still interested in this bike, here's what I did to it this morning.

As you know, the Happy time engines are small and don't take up too much space in the frame...especially if you're trying to make an older looking bike like this one. As you may have seen in my last post with pictures in it I had a piece of cardboard under the engine and I said i was going to fill the space with aluminum. Well, here's what it looks like roughed in. There will be polished stainless bolts with polished acorn nuts for final assembly. It's looking more and more like I want it to everytime I work on it. Hopefully I will get the darn thing done soon...just got to get my b*tt into the shop and do it!

That looks like...wow man. Look at how perfectly straight your carburetor is.
That's gonna look so sweet when done. Guaranteed Old timers will think that's the new Wizzer.
Not to go off topic but just a quick question,iRide.
What welder you using? Mig or Tig? And at what amps?
I'm a newbie...maybe a link if someone else already asked this?
For a man that taught himself to weld, fantastic job, man.

I can keep it on topic by answering it like this...

The welder I used on THIS BIKE is...HAHA...a MIG Lincoln P 135-T with a argon blend gas. It's the least expensive decent 110v welder that Lincoln sells. It's been a great little welder for building bikes and many other things.

Dan

Thanks for the words guys! I can't wait to see this one in full color!! Soon, I hope.

Welder

Ha Ha I have the same Mig. You look like you know how to use it better than me though... Looking great!! I love that tank.

That does make the engine look quite a bit more substantial. Good work as usual.

OMG I saw a 140v Mig on craigslist for 75 bucks.
Thanks for that info!
