My engine is currently breaking in and I’ve recently taken my jug off and have noticed that the cylinder has weird scratch mark looking patterns. Is it normal?

Some cylinder scoring is normal with these cheap little engines. As Chainlube stated if your nail catches on it then it's on it's way out.

If the motor was thoroughly cleaned and the port edges chamfered properly before assembly AND good intake filtration is used then there should be very little scoring (light/fine amounts) evident in the cylinder.

That is from the machine honing operation of the cylinder. It'll wear down as you run it.
