Jackshft heavy spring out to far?

Okay so I have my bike motor put together but when I take off the clutch cable housing that is screwed down into the motor case above the clutch adjustment area I cannot see the slotted ring nut that goes around the jackshaft to tighten the spring do I need to tighten that more until I can see that?

Never mind I just answered my own question I'm not able to get the Woodruff key all the way into the slot so obviously the ring nut around the Jack shaft is adjusted out too far.
