My screen name rcjunkie is related to my love of the radio control (model) airplane hobby. Here is some stuff I discovered that is related to this forum. These are bikes powered by radio control (miniature) jet engines. The engine in the video costs 4,000 dollars and the person has 2 installed on his bike.

wow, this totally belongs in wild in the streets!!! :devilish:

that's some really slick techie-work...i love it! it seems that for "thrust" you don't need as heavy a foundation as with mechanical torque, those struts look frighteningly flimsy. to sound stoopid, i think thrust doesn't care about wheel size either, how fast are these things going flat-out?

have you seen these related topics?

i wonder how long before someone asks for a "jet-powered" forum

PDE would rock on a bike... I think its totally doable with a decent amount of static thrust on the cheap.

http://aardvark.co.nz/pjet/ can be bit dangerous and does not run for long but YAHOOO!! talk about fast

No, it won't/can't go 150 mph. The tires would shred, the wheels would collapse and those engines don't make that much thrust.
