Just acquired a 99 WC1 from my father in law.

It's sat for about 10 years but I got it running but won't keep running. What should I try? Also there's a wire that looks like a ground next to the battery. Where's this go?

Check the spark plug, if it is fouled or the gap is bad it could cause it not to rune, as for the wires I don't know because I can't afford a whizzer.

That black wire grounds where the battery box cover mounts,

It won't keep running,, First check your Valve Nash - IN .008" / EX .010"
Your gonna need to inspect the valve seats, Sadly the 1999-2004 valve seats came loose within the first 500 miles

Yeah the engine will start when cold but when it warms up a valve seat comes loose and the engine stalls
After it cools down the engine will start again

A new Cyl top end kit or even a new engine can be bought from www.whizzercruzzerparts.com

Not saying this is your problem but something to check right away to eliminate if it' the issue

Check if it's a loose valve seat first, So we don't waist time trouble shooting phantom issues.

I wouldn't be surprised if you get lucky one day and it just appears
