They didn't want to cite me, they wanted to buy one! They asked all of the typical first questions and both had big smiles on their faces. I was expecting the worst but was told by them that as long as it was under 50cc, they think it's legal. As far as I know they are mistaken but I could be wrong. I am so happy with my MB :)

The greatest thing in the world........ seeing the cherries come on and then being to that you were pulled over to show you respect and ask you where to buy one!

I'm surprised that more bike patrols don't use them. MicroCHPs!:whistling:

Yea, the LAPD is wrong as usual....along with all the halfwits at the DMV
but what else would you expect from government drones?

The California law says absolutely nothing about 50 cc
What it says is 2 HP.....

    Were you wearing a helmet?

Did they ask you for your license?
    You need an M2 endorsement.

Do you have the moped plate on your bike?

LAPD are OK, I never had any problem with them and I lived
very close to the infamous Rampart Station in Echo Park.
Treat them with respect and be friendly.

They are way too busy with mayhem that they usually don't mess
with the small stuff unless you are a fool.
People getting shot over not too much was a regular event in Echo
Park and there are some very rough areas in Venice too.

Glendale and Burbank Police are a different story and will bust you
    over nothing.

LAPD used bike patrols where i used to live in Echo Park especially
around McArther(SP) park which is infamous for buying fake ID's for illegal
    aliens and drugs, etc
They had some pretty snazzy bicycles and wore bike helmets of course

I chatted them up a few times and they said how they liked the bikes cause they could sneak up on all the criminals and get through the park, alleys, etc

Gotta go back up there and sell them some EZ Motorbikes :devilish:

new day -- Sunday morning -- very early

new day -- Sunday morning -- very early
many times THINGS seem to look different on Sunday

#1 above -- to be honest I don't think that either of us would do any better
in the position of DMV employee than anyone working there now

#2--I often thought that looked somewhat funny
not sure if you get a prize or what ??

#3-- thanks -- have a good riding day

Being a DMV employee has too be ruff, many regulations people expect you to know off hand. Not to mention just about everyone that goes there is in a bad mood. I'm not sure you could pay me enough too do that job.
