Just Ordered Another Motor Again

As long as it's not made in China......oh waiT
Unless you're buying billet motors ( fuq that), price is insane for just one motor for pleasure riding, racing is something different. Everything else is chinese. Get the right factory and company, you get a quality engine. Not that things don't happen. Uf you ar eblowing motors every 7 months, you are A) building race engines, and 7 months on a race engine is insanely awesome, or B) buying the cheapest left over reject crap they have out there for sale or C) have no clue what you are doing with these bikes, or D) learning and experimenting the very expensive way. My buddy the preacher, his 12 year old daughter maintains a flying horse 66cc, has since she was 11. Was her 11th birthday present. I taught him, he taught her, she keeps it going. Even wrench her dad's bike, which I built identical to her bike, except I gave him a smaller sprocket. His does 40, her's does 30. Her's is quicker to full speed, his is a little slower to wind up. both flying horse single piece kits. He bought them, idk where, but I guess he knew the guy selling them. Both bikes are out an about a lot. Even come over here to go to the race track parking lot where we race around for hours. Guy's, if an 11 year old girl can change a base gasket, check a plug, knock a chain, clean an lube, etc, etc, with no previous experience, whats up? Please read some of the post here about maint, and performance. tons of good stuff. If you do know what you are doing, and don't be shy if ya don't, read, buy a better quality engine. we all had to learn sometime. Read up like you are starving for info, let it saturate the brain fat. The brain fat loves to be used, more ya use, more you gain.

edit addition: I just wanted to add, this little girl shows no interest in making some performance engine bike. She doesn't wanna learn porting, port cleaning or nothing, I think thats why her dad went with the flying horse. No need to port when you change a jug, which she can do all on her own, from start to finish. Bearing, pin, rings and all. Single piece jugs are great for people like her. She's just extremely proud to have and maintain a bike where all her friends have only a pedal bike. Give's her bragging rights at that age. lol. She does however have her dad text me a photo of the jugs when she is doing maint on the bikes. See if they need replaced. If they do, they order them up and slap them on. Makes me weep a few tears of joy ( which my beard proudly hides, to see a little lady wrench on things. lol.

Try a flying horse engine. They aren't the most powerful, But they are good enough and last a long time.

Okay, someone mention a brand a Flying horse I thought those were bikebury motors but thank you for mentioning racing motors I'm bought at least 2 of them were, but they dont tell you that when you are buying them they just come with a sticker reads, this motor only for racing not intended to be used for on or off-roading strictly for approved race tracks!

Like where in the hell am I going to find an approved race track? China!

This new motor is making some ugly noises and vibrations beginning to seize up then let go in the ride I don't think it well make the 30 day free return I will put a HP carb on it tomorrow see if I can get some better low-end hill climbing and hopefully some high-end or I will just ride the hell out of it to see if I can beat it to death close the coffin door send it back.

I think what is causing the performance problem was following the guys instructions to use only 91 octane gas every China-man I talk to said the motors are designed for low octane 85 gas tried running 91 before in another motor serious s**t began to happen look too hot and oil leaks from anywhere, Ya I know you guys say I run 91 for year's never a problem, me tried it problems.

Inspector why not a FD Staton kit? Under $500 and you get the new 50cc GX 4stroke motor, bullet roof but not good in the wet/snowy weather you can get down in the Springs. Also a rear 4 stroke chain drive set = no problemos. Only thing is teens/20s salivate when they see a bike like that and theft is an issue. Quit wasting your money dude on things that don't last unless you know what you're doing.

flying horse is a brand tht bbr sells, along with many other sellers of the flying horse brand. You can tell they are flying horse by looking for the single piece head/jug with a little flying horse on it. They are dam good engines for what they are. Perfect for the person tht just wants to ride and not tinker much. They just have small jugs so you can't really beef them up without worrying about over heating. Good power ( not huge, but good) for a stock engine. Work amazingly well with shift kits.

Just went shopping for them they don't have them anymore they have another one a BBR sticker with another sticker saying this is a racing motor not intended for on-road or off-road strictly racing, which falls into the 7th-month junk category.

inspectorcritic, Maybe you should start looking at electric bikes.
And do what? Short circuit the whole town?
I bought a Ridgeyard 80 for my last build. $107 on Ebay for the kit. It really runs nice.

I'd stay away from anything bbr, lol. i'm not a fan of theirs. flying horse isn't bbr. flying horse is the name of the engine that was named by the maker. just look for the flying horse on the jug and you know you got one. all these engines say for off road use only etc.. keeps the seller safe.
