A motorized bicycle is considered a moped under Kansas state law. A moped is defined as a vehicle that has:

• 2 to 3 wheels.
• an automatic transmission.
• an engine up to 3.5hp.
• an engine no bigger than 130cc.
• a top speed of no more than 30mph.
