Kent Alameda, Staton 18.75 gearbox, GX35 clone.

The Staton gearbox was delivered yesterday and it is simple and overbuilt. I've seen smaller gears in 20 hp motorcycle engines so it should be indestructible with the massively powerful 38cc engine. Now to figure out a good way to mount it.

I've gone up 30% grade hills pulling a full load in my trailer.
I've done that just trying to pull my lard arse out of bed in the morning...lol...Talk about pulling a full load...lol...At my age you no longer "Leap" out to greet the new day, you just gently and slowly roll out inch by inch hearing "snap, crackle and pop"< (think Rice Crispy's...lol.), not even wanting to see the sun rise until at least the third cup of coffee...lol...lol.

Yeah gets bad when laying in one position too long can make you sore.

Got the mount figured out and waiting on parts to arrive.

Thinking ahead... is there a recommended source for heavier gauge spokes? Not sure I'll need them with such a tiny engine but I have broken spokes on other motorized bikes.

I came across this a while back and thought it was kind of neat...Maybe something that might just be great for getting down to the mailbox over snow and ice.

Here are some videos of these things in action...You will have to click the "Videos" on the left side of the screen.

Sorry about hearing you have MS, I had an aunt that had it too.
OMG, you trying to kill Mudflap? That thing is just plain dangerous on ice and snow. What did he do to warrant such earthly advice? 3 Hail Mary's D, for you have sinned.

When it comes to spoke strength quality matters more than size. A #14 Saphim spoke is stronger than a #10 department store spoke. The 3 top spokes are:
Saphim; DT; Wheelsmith.
