Hi team!!!

I have some serious hill climbing, don't want to peddle much ( plus want it to catch and take off VERY easily without dying or needing any throttle), and I feel like a larger sprocket is what I need.

Currently have a 44 tooth, and do not care at all about max speed at this point. Also, it would be nice to be able to idle in gear and the bike just keep pulling without much effort in general on flat road - right now when I try to do that I can hear/feel gurgling/stuttering like it want's to die and have to occasionally give it some throttle.

Since I am having googling troubles, what are the standard size sprockets and sizing available in a bulleted list. I.E. (im just guessing at this list right now) :

  • 36 tooth
  • 44 tooth
  • 50 tooth
  • 72 tooth
  • 88 tooth
  • etc...

Plus links to somewhere to buy them ASAP, and tips to achieving my goals.

In addition to a larger sprocket I do want to replace the stock exhaust for something that is torque down low. Would I even need that if I simply threw on a bigger sprocket and/or could a torque exhaust override the need for even fiddling with the sprocket?

If its possible that changing the exhaust - or - sprocket individually would give me what I need that would be cool. I feel like I can grab a huge sprocket and be done.

Maybe a combo --- big sprocket plus torque exhaust would blow the roof of this mofo and leave me smiling!

Let me know guys!

48 would make a big difference...

44 is middle of the spectrum... The higher the rear # the lower speed and more torque you can get...

Is there a reason why mossy is laughing at this suggestion?
Mossy laughs at anything :ROFLMAO:

You said speed wasn't important and hill climbing and easy take off was

A few guys like the crawling power of a 70t

@Don_Parsons put a 70t on his fat tire bike and loves it

@Deleted Member 4613 put a 70t on his Rear mount chain drive and he loves it

A 70t sounded like what ya wanted It probably won't go over 20mph But IDK it might go a little faster than 20 mph

It is. Thanks for the 70t suggestion! Any that fit the standard spoke gripping attachment that comes with stock kits?

Plus y'all think a little exhaust upgrade would afford a middle of the ground sprocket to accommodate versatility? I.e. better exhaust = more torque = less need for a massive sprocket?

Thoughts?

I was going to recommend a 56tooth, I dont have experience with it, but do run a 44 tooth & I can take off from dead stop, if I abuse & feather/slip the clutch. I would think a 56-60 tooth would be sufficient. As for exhaust, alls I can tell you, the longer the header/head pipe to the muffler/expansion chamber the more torque. I think something like 26½long is the magic number. A longer intake manifold will help on torque as well.

Bike berry has them for that setup
