LAWNBOYS ARE GREAT

I don't think you could ask for a better more reliable engine than a 2 cycle 6-1/2 HP Lawnboy. They start easily with the pull rope and the carburators are simple but control the speed well. They have needle bearing rods and shafts and don't weigh very much. They are prone to coil failures occasionally however.

Bake the coil in the oven at no more than 200f for an hour and seal the cracks with any sort of sealer (varnish, shellac, thin glue) you can find.
It will run again. Hell yeah! I'm a big fan.

The idea of using a Lawnboy for an early 1900's replica is very appealing, now that you have me thinking about it.
This is a bare Lawnboy engine, low rpm, high torque 2 stroke:

I don't have a 6-1/2 hp but my 4,75 Hp runs great and with my variable speed adapter it will climb the steepest grades or fly on the flats.

Haven't been on here for years but my builds are all still running well. I never sold any of my builds & won't. I'm 80 now but still ride them! No fool like an old fool! LOL
Where do you park them at night? Leave the keys in a pet rock nearby, please!
