ive never had troubles with lead going through the engine...brass does a bit of damage, but not lead.

if you was worried about lead damaging the cylinder and piston, what about crank bearings and conrod bearings? at which point youd have replaced the engine...

    usual stuff.

    spark. check it.

take carb off, pour some fuel down the manifold and try and start it.

did you put new rings on the piston?

how about bottom cylinder gasket? round the right way? or the cylinder, even?

maybe the leads stuck in ya spark plug!
