Their first product was the EVG ebike, which began to be sold in 1999. There were several variations and options, including the Police Edition / PE. I feel that this ebike was ahead of it's time, and the price actually wasn't bad, ranging from $995 to $1,295 depending on options chosen. The 20-mile range was adequate.

I almost bought one of those in the early 2000s (used). It was only 24 volt, so I passed on it.
It would probably be a fun bike with a bigger hub motor, Lipo batteries and upgraded controller that will accept 48v.
 
Are we talking 80's here? When Lee was a saint for saving Chrysler?
 
Iacocca founded EV Global in 1997. I have seen 2005 models for sale. I have not found the final year of production.
