so everyone does 65?
Yeah, but I'm cheating, it's not supposed to go faster than 30 mph and my race bike does well over that, but I do have it registered as a moped so at least it kinda looks legal.Tyler has his race bike plated.
To get your bike registered in CA you will have to spend $21 to get your registration and license plate. There are no renewal fees or stickers, it's good for the life of your bike. To register fill out form: Reg 230, sign it, send payment and mail it to the address on the form----> https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv/?1dmy&urile=wcm:path:/dmv_content_en/dmv/forms/reg/reg230
When filling out the form use the serial number of your bicycle as the vehicle identification number (VIN). Also, since most of the 2 stroke 'china girl' engines have no serial number stamped on them when the DMV form asks for the engine serial number, it is acceptable to use the bicycle serial number and put an "E" in front of it in the spot on the form for engine number. "E" stands for engine. If the engine ever fails and you want to put a new one on your bike, you will not need to change your DMV registration. Okay, that's it, send it in, wait 3 weeks, license plate and reg will arrive in the mail, no need to bring your bike to the DMV or anything, no inspections required.
I don't know anything about New York state motor bicycle laws, I once heard it's not legal but that was several years ago but maybe just in the city?
Think if you register in CA it will now have a vin that could work in other states. Problem is a title but maybe CA could also provide one. It's how zms was doing it. Would only do it with someone I trust.
Yes, it says at the top "Motorized Bicycle", then under "Type Vehicle Use" it says "Moped". It lists the make and model bicycle and the license plate # as well as the VIN, also lists the date that it was issued and says "EXPIRES: 00/00/00", and at the bottom it says "CARRY THIS DOCUMENT OR COPY WHEN OPERATING THIS MOPED" Also, it has the stamp of the seal of CA, my name and address as well as the fee paid ($21). It also has a place for a seller's signature and an empty space to write in the date sold in the event that I wanted to transfer ownership. It also has some other listings that I don't know what they mean, also a long series of numbers and letters. So the registration you get back states that it is a "motorized bicycle" or a "moped"?

I think the registration acts as a title for the DMV's use in CA. It also came with a bunch of stuff for the new owner to fill out and sign to transfer ownership or for the current owner to fill out if the vehicle is destroyed.Think if you register in CA it will now have a vin that could work in other states.
