That sounds normal to me. Won't roll until you pull the lever.

Take the plug out and see if the engine will turn over; this'll let you know if your engine is locking up

Well yea, if the lever is out then there is continuous movement from rear wheel through the engine. It will be hard to turn with the engine engaged.

Thats how it works homie. You pedal your bike and let go of the clutch lever. Are you a light person? If you are light, or do not have enough momentum, your rear wheel will lock and skid.
