Locked up drive sprocket rolls fine when clutch is disengaged what else could it b

I don't understand. You said your drive sprocket is locked up when the clutch is engaged. Then when we said that is how it works, you said it won't engage.

When your clutch is engaged (handle released) the drive sprocket is connected to the engine. When you try and roll your bike with the clutch engaged, you are also turning the engine along with the wheel. If the clutch won't engage, then your bike should roll freely at all times. When you pedal your bike with clutch disengaged, then release the handle to engage the clutch, your momentum pushes the rear wheel to turn and start your engine. Once your engine is running, then the engine turns your rear wheel.

I think im having the same problem?? I have a 69’ PC50, ran great, next AM I go out to start it, pedal down the driveway, flip the trans lever and click! The pedals are locked? I press decompression lever, try rolling it and tire skids? Flip lever back, rolls great? Flip it back, engine locks. Taken engine apart 4x, absolutely nothing broken, seized or scored? Piston not seized, ran great yesterday. When the lever is flipped from pedaling to engine start it should still pedal and roll right? It did yesterday. I’ve replaced the countershaft/trans spring and the ratchet start spring. Didn’t fix. The lever flipped pushes on the countershaft/trans shaft-spring and release the gear, then when the lever is flipped back it locks the countershaft-gear, but something in my engine is locking and won’t pedal? I’ve found no one that works on these and was told to just throw it away bc it’s old!! Yes, he was an idiot! Anyone plz help!! Send video of your engine and flipping the lever to my PM, (Private Mai)l, here in the forums. Thx

I have deleted youe email address from public view in the forums and replaced that with just send that video to your PM, (private mail), or here in the forums instead...Always share that info in private rather than public to protect yourself and otherts...There are many scammers and spammers that also read these forums looking for emails and phone numbers to exploit when they find them out in the open like this...I got yer six...DAMIEN
