Looking to mount a 212 predator with a torq conv.

I have a stupid phone it's not letting me upload, but I've already stripped the entirety of the frame apart used a wire wheel to clean all the rust and paint off and lubed up all bearing and gearing replacing what needed as I went. I have 10 spoke mag wheels with a 40t sprocket. The frame itself is in excellent shape with no cracks or severe rust. Only surface damage.
I'm assuming you're talking about 26" wheels. If you're using a 3\1 to 1\1 torque converter and a 10t\40t you're talking about a 12\1 to 4\1 reduction range. If the torque converter did max out you'd have a top speed of 70 mph. This would be asking a lot of a 212 engine. It'd be more practical to run a 60t in the rear. This'll give you a reduction range of 18\1 to 6\1 then you should have good hill climbing abilities with a top level ground speed of 46 mph.

At the 18\1 reduction you should be able from a dead stop go up any hill 15 mph. Depending on how big you are and how steep the hill is at a 12\1 reduction you might not be able to get up the hill.

That was gonna be my next question, is the sprocket size. I have a 40t currently because of an 80cc 2 stroke that was my daily but it gave out after close to 2k miles and 2 years of abuse and racing it. Now I'm just looking for something to go on joy rides with and have fun. Already plan on getting it registered and all that other crap that required to road legal with a larger engine I also have a class m license. 45 mph is a great ground speed and I'm 5ft 8 and 165lbs if that'll help with calculations for everything but thank you for recommending a 60t I'll definitely be switching that out

The 1/2 is just a solid piece of sheet steel, not planning on actually using it. It's just a place holder to make sure I have enough room for the valve covers and carb
One big advantage to thick steel plate is it can be threaded for bolt holes in it. I did this with some ¼" steel plate I welded onto some unistrut to make a gas tank mount.

See I was thinking about making my own mount and threading holes and grinding the edges down to make them flush with the frame and putting a backing plate to hold the bracket on but that seems like a lot of work

I have the heavy kit motor mount you can have but shipping from here to Pittsburgh would be too high. You could just buy one for less.

I just checked shipping with Canada post. About 40 CDN. Well the thought was there any way.

That's 30 Usd so not to bad, all the mounts I seen that fit the way I want are going for 80 to 100 usd plus like 20 for shipping haha but I appreciate the offer thank you, probably gonna make one out of sheet steel to make the engine look more flush and clean. Also I'll be able to have it almost in line with the torque converter to the back tire giving a more streamline look

Universal fit often means doesn't fit anything. There were postings a while back where this topic was discussed at length.

I did make one out of aluminum that cost several hundred by time the dust settled.
