8mm? I know the ball bearing is 8mm in the clutch shaft don’t know exact size of the pusher.

The same diameter and length as mbing Dan the staffer's power tripping dick? Ha hahaha

8mm or 5/16" x 28 mm long.
some may be a c hair shorter than that.

is the ball captive in the shaft, or is there a chance I lost it as well?

Shine a light in there the grease usually holds it in place.

went in with a magnet and got nothing, so that must be on the garage floor as well, time to get a carpet remnant for the work area

5/16" diam ball bearing from Ace for cheap.

Be sure to put a good pea sized portion of axle grease in the hole before installing your bar and ball bearing. It will lube the inner surfaces of the clutch linkages and keep the bucking bar and ball bearing from accidentally escaping.
