Maybe this is why I love 2 strokes

Has anyone noticed that one of the singing group, (The Dillards), who were an actual blue grass band in real life, the character known as Dud, who was originally portrayed by Hoke Howell as a well-mannered country boy, was curiously replaced by Bob Denver in this one and only particular episode in this clip that Darwin posted.

The reason why is that even though Bob Denver was already a known actor from his "Dobbie Gillis" days appearing as Maynard G. Krebs, the network wanted him to be a more recognisable face for his upcoming "Gilligan's Island" series because they thought the younger generation that would be watching Gilligan, would have no idea who he was since he hadn't been in any shows for quite a while...And the rest is history...lol.

If you don't spot him right away, you will during the end of the clip...Hint, he is sitting right next to "Darleen Darling" the daughter of Brisco Darling...She just died this year.

Ernest T. Bass was in my favorite episodes of Andy Griffith show, even today they're funny.
