MBs: A "Steampunk" hobby?

After reading this USAToday.com article today, my sister-in-law said that she thinks that the motorized bicycle hobby has kind of a steampunk "feel" to it. Interesting thought.

There is some validity to what your sister in law said, according to Von Slatt.
Personally, I feel like motorbike riders are more representative of the early 20th century; with biplanes in the air and a few autos on the road. However, the Victorian era lasted through 1901, so there is some overlap.
