Top speed run. 31.4mph. Feels geared high, but I think that is do to a lack of torque, not hp. That is what peerless 700s are for.

i have a cvt honda clone setup. ive designed it so a 5hp briggs (or most everything) will direct bolt in, after i weld in 2 pieces of angle iron to set the feet on. i would love to have that 4 stroke torque, to just be able to smoke tires at the lightest throttle inputs
I'm slapping a predator 459cc max engine in my single seat full suspension go kart just for fun.

now we have proved that this chassis "isnt that tippy", lets quadruple the torque, double the weight, and (almost double) the horsepower, using a very quick revving kohler 6.75 hp veritcal, and a spare peerless 700 trans. may use a manual clutch (belt) or remove the crankshaft and turn it to 3/4 or 5/8. need a 1.6:1 initial drive ratio, and 1:1 final drive. I will end up with a 3ish: to 1 in 5th, and a 12.45:1(!!!) 1st gear

mocked up. i did made it so the belt would be as long as possible, and more expensive
You should find an old riding mower with one of the 15hp Briggs engines, that would be insane. There is no difference between the 13 and 15 by the way, there is a purposely restrictive gasket in the intake that covers half the port in the 13hp.

i do like my kohler it has incredible throttle response. similar to a crf250. i would like the extra weight, and torque though. i was thinking more alon the lines of a electric start 10 or 11hp briggs with a recoil. ive heard the oiling system is less than adequate though
