Minarelli Builders Thread

But the carb is 26mm, thats why i opened the intake to match an for gas flow. Her are some pics. I was going to jb weld the bottom of the intake to have the right face for the carb flange. But the o ring on the carb does fully seal the aluminum intake by 1mm on the bottom. Just the flanges doesnt match so i am going to jb weld the bottom.

oic well that should seal up ok then, take a spray bottle with water and spray all around once you have it buttoned up, that will show you any air leaks if any.

I will try after work tommorrow. Can an air leak cause a hard start. Im beggining to think maybe it could be the crankseals. I have rebult this bottom end like 3 times in 2 years. It was a zeda 80. But i put a zl40mm crank in it cause i didnt want to balance the zeda 80 crank, i wanted to keep that ceank in ots original state.

Yes very much so, an air leak will make it require even more fuel to start.

I covered all the air leaks with gasket maker an rubbed some over the crank seals just in case. Still hard to start takes a minute of pedaling. Made it rich and lean to see if it was an air fuel problem. Cdi and magnet are within specs. I have an ngk spark plug its a year old. Could it be a weak plug. Also tested the boot but its fine. I starts, just takes forever and I have to pedal without pulling in the clutch. Want to solve this issue before i try to resolve the hi rev issue

I had a old pz20 that was leaking. I tried it an it instantly started. So im assuming the vm22 knock off needs a bigger pilot which i never replaced the pilot just the main jets
