Minarelli Shifter Bike

Just finished building this bike for my employer.
CDH GT2A gasframe
Ruff cycles forks,bars,and stem
Sturmey Archer xlfd drum brake hubs, 3 speed on rear
Husky double wall rims with 12g spokes with Maxxis Hookworms
Smolik performance budget minarelli with a mikuni vm20 carburetor and yasuni R1max exhaust.
Sickbikeparts.com shift kit.

Should be a fun little ripper.

Where did you get your exhaust from and how much? I no I’ll have to make it fit. But I’d like to not have to cut it up as minimal as possible.

So there isn’t a expansion chamber difference? And did you only use one 32mm 45 bend?
No I don't think so. Here's a link for the elbow. I think I used 4-5 plus a 25mm to 32mm reducer to attach the flange.

Anybody cutting or grinding on brake pads/clutch pads...make sure you wear some good breathing and eye protection!

Those little particles can cause respiratory and eye problems.

It's the middle of winter where I am so it will be another few months before this bike gets ridden. I expect mid 50's from this bike. This is my bike it's a Polini sport cylinder with the R1 exhaust and a 42t sprocket. It has wicked acceleration and hits about 54mph.View attachment 164219

That is a sweet looking bike...glad to see somebody did a good job on the pipe, that should help the 2 stroke engine a LOT :).

Yeah I use the band saw, then cut into strips and then small sq's to be shaped.
No worries at all. On my other builds I use brake pad material for the clutch pads. You can either buy them from rdm or make your own. I make my own. Arrowmotorizedcycles.com also sells a racing clutch pad although I haven't tried them.
I have pads from a few different places to try...
When I worked as a mechanic all the truckers loved the green gripper ... we also used the woven on oil cooled band brakes for fishing boats... you can get it with out having to cut the shoes apart and all that... Message this eBay seller what you want and if they don't have it it doesn't exist...
