Yeah, you're right. I think there was a guy that made a wet clutch, it basically eliminates having to grease the 2 gears in the clutch case, and it got rid of almost all of the clutch sound. Did make it pretty slippy tho

if you're willing to modify a bit, a wet clutch from a small motorcycle inside the case ( modified case and cover of course) would work. i just don't see the trouble of doing it worth while. a small motorcyle engine is $200 to $500 bucks. you're gonna spend more than tht in mods and parts to make a wet clutch worth while( no slips, no leaks) on one of these china dolls. great idea though, just not cost effective in my opinion. i buy most my engines for 100 bucks ( unless the customer or family member wants to supply it their self). whole kits for 100, then i just change bearings and do whatever work on them they need or the person wanted. wet clutching would be quite an undertaking if done properly.

I am not saying that you should do it or anything, I'm just saying a guy done it and there was no chatter. This is not designed to work as a wet clutch so you are stuck with the sounds

not enough power to demand a wet clutch. lol. besides, the chatter is only when it's idling or not engaged. i personlly am just fine with the 5hp or less clutch set up. very cheap to fix and super simple to maintain. makes it great for kids to learn how clutches work.
