They have an 11t and a 52t sprocket.

3 x (52/11) = 14.18:1.

Changing to a 9t raises it to a perfect 17.33:1 ratio.

Similar to a 41t sprocket and a China Girl engine.

The 9t would make it work for a top speed at 7500 rpm
of 33 mph approx. Don't buy unless you can equip the
trans with a 9t gear.

To make this somewhat effective, I would suggest the GX50. The 35cc
would not provide enough power.

Thanks for the pics. Similar frame design as mine. I like the basket idea. Do you have any problem with your right heal hitting the basket when peddling?

No problem without the basket(engine is on the left side.)
But with basket, my heal would hit the bottom of the basket on up stroke. So, I added Staton 2" extension brackets to the U-bracket(5th & 6th pic.) This moved the entire friction drive just far enough back where there's no more contact.
If I remove the front fender, the bike will fold in an extra inch or two, but still not all the way....I think if I had tweaked the length of the dual rear supports before I cut them, the front tire would probably fit underneath the engine, enabling a complete fold when the QR was locked in the up position.

You can get a metal mesh basket just about anywhere....Amazon, Wallyworld, Academy, etc...
The 20" folder basket has the GX35 inside, the 29er I built has the GX50.

I have the exact same baskets on my bike...i got them at walmart...pics below show the baskets...the fold down handles have been removed by me, just as Cavity has his removed as well...They are originally intended as handlebar baskets but fit nicely on rear carrier as well...zip ties help to anchor it...DAMIEN
