Motor chain tension vs bike chain tension?

The side plates are a little taller on some of the the half links. He is saying to grind down the plates on the half link. I never had to do this.
Ahhh I gotcha, thanks.. so you just leave that cotter pin in there as is and no issues? Sorry I just keep looking at it afraid it may catch and rip some sh*t lol.

Alright problem solved! Thank you all for the advice and suggestions, I ended up using the half link right next to the master link. Once I pulled back on the axle my pedal chain went taught and my drive chain wasn’t far behind. Made up the slack with the chain tensioner and all is well with this build now. Put 14 miles on her since the half link and no signs of anything irregular! Thank you all!
 
Make sure you bend the legs on the cotter pin more. You can also trim the legs some.
Ok will do... trying to think of something I can use instead of that cotter pin that may be more secure but that hole is very small
