I like the tires that come on the Hyper cruiser. Treads similar to some motorcycle tires. As long as the chain clears the tire and doesn’t hit I’d run it.

My tire is 2.5” and has about 3/16” clearance or less on the drive chain and the pedal side is closer…it squeeks by the tire.
Neither touch and never had problems.

Just make sure the wheel runs true and not wobbly.

I have stock tires on mine, but not stock rims. It does clear on mine. Get that chain tightened and we'll see where you need to go from there

I guess the thing to do is get my chain on right and then see which way it needs to go.

Any suggestions?

Get a straight edge and clamp it to the wheel sprocket, if it points at your engine sprocket then you're golden.

Does anyone know what this nut is called on the hyper cruiser? I think it wasn’t tight enough and it caused my wheel to not be centered correctly in the chainstays. Causing chain alignment issues.

And what about the nut in the second picture on the axel?

After everything that has been written and told to you about running the stock rims and bearings and what happens to them in very quick order and your still trying to run them???

I have heard the wheels aren’t the best but will work, have heard nothing at all about the bearings as far as I can recall.
I was able to get my wheel centered in the chainstay and my half link installed so my chain will fit again. There is now adequate space between the tire and the chain.

As soon as the chain loosens up I will try to remove the half link, it was so close to fitting before I got the half link.

Unfortunately my bottom chain still hits the chain stay so I had to use a tensioner - once I remove the half link I think I will be good to go without a chain tensioner

Heard a bit of a grinding sound, I think my engine mount wasn’t seated properly and I think it fell into place. Additionally, I do believe there was a bit of chain slap

But all in all I’m happy I got my new engine installed, the studs installed correctly, everything torque down - Now I think I just need to do some minor tightening and going over things again real quick/Make sure everything is seated

Looks great! That chain needs to be a lot tighter.

From your picture 0343, looks like you need either a spacer and washer or a stack of nuts to take up the slack. You should be able to snug both axle nuts up with the wheel centered with no play.

if I snug up those nuts from both photos my wheel stops spinning freely so I did them a little loose

It was a bear getting the tire on and off, my bike tips over, and I have to fiddle with it to get the tire past the rim brakes. Wondering if a tripod stand would allow me to change out my inner tube if I get a flat.

That and a little chain tension is all that’s stopping me now from going out on a longer ride.

I’m wondering if there is a tool for pulling the chain closer together. I was very very close to getting the chain together before the half link — now that I have a half link it’s a little loose

Sometimes I use needle nose pliers to pull the links closer but you almost need 3 hands to do it. Twist tying wire between the links works too.
