I built this thing from scratch a while back and it still runs amazing. It does about 30 mph with its Honda 4 stroke motor. I usually race the mopeds around my house with it.
I have a bike brake cable and lever to control the throttle now. This was an early picture of it when I still had the stock 1 ft long handle throttle on the motor. You can see it sticking out under the motor mount.
