My First Bike, Ongoing Build

Here is my first bike. I paid $15 for the frame with tires at a thrift store, painted them and put a 48cc engine on that I got from eBay for $150. I had a little trouble with my clutch at first (bearing fell out), but it's up and running now.

I also have mounted a 50 cal ammo box (not pictured) to a rack that goes over my back tire. I'll try to upload a picture of that once I re-mount it. I've got another kit ordered and plan to film the installation of it for youtube as the instructions that came with my kit weren't very informative.

My buddy laughing is my father, and yes, he's very excited to get one of his own for back home. He bought one for my cousin not fifteen minutes after seeing mine!

Update

I added a springer fork to the front and an ammo box on the back. Rides much smoother.

I thought of another reason why it appears to run faster. Perhaps this fork is taller than the previous one thereby disbursing my body weight toward the back tire giving more friction? Just a thought. It may actually not go any faster at all and only appear so. Either way, I'm very happy with the springer fork.

The forks are a good idea, any suspension forks are a good idea...........well done man.

Nice looking ride! It may be running faster because it's broken in? I doubt the springer has anything to do with an increase in speed. It will definitely give you a smoother ride, which will make it easier to ride faster.
