My first gas motorized bike build is making progress.

Getting there.

So are you saying to a jack shaft, then to the left side of the rear wheel?
Pretty much, the engine output shaft is already on the left side. I originally was thinking a belt drive straight from the engine to the rear wheel but I don't think I would have the clearance without changing chainlines.

Non hemi, the engine has been sitting around my garage for several years it's never even been started.
That's kinda a bummer. The hemi is not only awesome, but you can make more power, and it sounds cool.
I am planning a clutch then run a chain going to a couple freewheels on a shaft under the engine to get my chain line straight.
A cvt will give you more top end speed. If you aren't too concerned about that, then a centrifugal clutch is a reliable option.

If you go with the CVT, the driven clutch's out put shaft can be lengthened to line up the chain.
I belive i actually need to bring the chain line in towards the bicycles center. The engine driven chain would be further out and the chain driving my wheel would be closer to the center. I'm not positive until I get the engine mounted.

Most CVTs have the drive sprocket between the driven sheave and the backing plate. But, you can put a spacer there and have the sprocket on the bike side of the clutch.

I'm interested in this clutch, but it's kind of spendy.

Looks epic, but I've never used one. It's less expensive than some other manual clutches I've seen on the market.

Friend of mine ordered 1 of them. I'll see if he ever got his. He ordered it a week or 2 ago. If he has got his I'll try & get some pics from him.
