Welcome.

Reading your unpunctuated post was one of the most difficult thing I've ever done in my life:)

I think a distinction is made in most people's minds between mopeds and motorized bicycles. Technically there is alot of overlap, but today's definitions used by the moped community are pretty similar to the ones used by the motorized bicycle community.

Mopeds are generally considered bikes manufactured with the motor and frame in the same design.

Motorized Bicycles are generally considered bicycle frames with a motor added to it afterwords.

These two sites below do a pretty good job of giving an overview of the differences if I didn't:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motorized_bicycle
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moped

Two good resources for mopeds are
http://www.mopedarmy.com
http://www.mopedriders.org

There is a moped group in your area that call themselves the "Puddle Cutters" that may be a good local resource.
http://www.mopedarmy.com/members/view/puddlecutters/
http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=61790305

Otherwise a good resource for motorized bikes is right here!
Again, welcome and I'd love to see some pictures too.
