My ram air

Well i got it done. It amplifies the intake like crazy!! The intake it 2x louder than my exhaust! Performance wise It does pull a little better against wind. I think I need to put some kind of scoop on the end to catch more air. I had a sock over it for a air filter, but it was so restrictive that the engine built up a vacuum and eventually stalled. Does anybody have suggestions for a high flow/cheap/still filters the air good? My top end has also improved. I cant say how much because my speedo broke. ): well, here are the pics.

Look for some cheap mini-bike cone style filters at tractorsupply, or get a small cheap cone filter for a car, and adapt it to that pipe!

Or instead of the sock, why not try some ladies tights, i think you americans call them panty hose, but I'm probably completely wrong.
I used this as a screen on a home made air filter

Hi unraw, what size is that PVC 1.5, 2" Can you give us inside and outside mesurements so we can help a little better with a filter?

oh, ya I forgot. Its 2" pvc pipe used for Vacuums that are built into the house. (forget what there called)

If you want to avoid intake noise, could the pipe be pointed downward? That would redirect the intake pulses down and away from you. A forward facing intake pipe looks fast, but probably doesn't really add much in the way of additional speed... Or is it different in real life?

Look at some of the posts from guys that made their own velocity stack intake. They reused the plastic plate, screws and air element from the original air cleaner. You can rig something to hold the original air element against the plastic plate on the carb.

you are wrong. a forward facing intake will make a ton more power than one that is facing backwards or down. That's why it's called "ram air"...the air is literally "rammed" into the intake by the forward momentum of the bike.
this is why chevy made the cowl induction hood, Pontiac, and olds made the ram air hood back in the early 70's. cramming as much air into the motror gives more power and having the opening face forward, the air is pushed into the carb.
