Hello everyone my name is Geoff im from Boston, MA and i recently discovered motoredbikes.
Last month i bought a new Trek Marlin 5 and i love it so far. It is beautiful.
I want to install an engine as a winter project. The bike has 29" wheels with disc brakes.
What would be the best kit to buy for this particular bike? Any help would be greatly appreatiated!

What ever engine you buy, I would use a SBP shift/jackshaft kit that will propel you through the pedal chain.
I don't think an HS four stroke will fit in that frame, so looks like you need a China girl two stroke.
_A mid-drive electric kit would be mechanically simpler, but more expensive.

Thank you! Im just learning about these kinda bikes and engine systems.
I like the chinese two strokes. I would want to upgrade the carb. Reeds. And expansion chamber right away. I saw a youtube video with the shift kit and that looks like what i need. Not sure on how it works but thats why im here! If anyone has any links on info on the shift kit where to buy, how it works, etc that would be great!
