Carby Mystery Carb Part

OK, so curiosity got the better of me and I disassembled the new carb I have to see where the C clip was before I mounted the carb. I had the Choke and Carb parts out when I hear "ping" and I find this piece and I don't know where in the assembly it goes. Any very detailed info would be greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure that the piece you are showing goes on top of the slide, on top of the C clip and under the slide spring.
so it would go in order, c-clip, that part and then the spring.
I'm pretty sure that's where it goes because it doesn;t look like anything mechanical or anything that would cause the carb not to work.
I think it's just a little clip to help hold down the c-clip and needle with pressure from the slide spring on top of it.
