Need Help Mounting Honda GS 190 Engine on a PhatMOTO Bike

Hello everyone,

I'm excited to join this community and look forward to your expert advice! I'm currently working on fitting a Honda GS 190 engine into a PhatMOTO bike frame. So far, it seems promising, but I've encountered a slight issue with clearance at the top back end of the valve cover.

Additionally, I need some guidance on creating a throttle linkage and rearranging the air cleaner to accommodate this setup. I'm also planning to install a Series 30 torque converter. Given the importance of not altering the valve cover (as I'm aware it's critical), I'm hesitant about making any irreversible modifications like using an angle grinder on it.

Any tips or suggestions on how to address these challenges would be greatly appreciated, especially from those of you who've handled similar projects. I'm willing to consider returning the engine if necessary, but I'm really hoping to make this work. Thanks in advance for your help!

That's quite a bit you need to clearance. I'm not sure if the 190 is doable. I've heard the 160 fits nicely

Thanks for the quick reply, I'll look into the 160, I just bought 190 so I can still exchange it, for an exorbitant shipping fee

The reason I chose this engine is that it seemed to fit in a video, after careful analysis it seems they bent the valve cover slightly, does this seem ok to anyone that knows?

I believe the bike you pictured there is a different phatmoto model than what you have.

If so, I totally agree...You have to really show the actual bike and motor you are actually working with to get any sort of good help and guidance.

The frame shown is a screenshot from a video. I believe it's an entirely different model than what OP is trying to work with.

That is what I was thinking as well which means any advice given would be worthless since it is not the same machine being worked on.

Yes, it may be different as far as I know it's a PhatMOTO AT same as mine but different year
