still doubt it - looks like they soldered red wire where white used to be - guessing a quick test is to ground red wire and see if spark is still on blue wire
There is really only 2 decent cdi on the market designed for much better reliability but cost rather high compared to stock.
Jaguar cdi kit and the Huffy Davidson cdi kit...both offer retarded timing at higher rpm but don't necessarily mean it will help make more power...they are good for helping save a motor at super high rpm
For what you need, a stock cdi will provide more power or I should say top end speed.
Get yourself an OZ Super Magneto, an NGK plug wire and boot upgrade and the correct heat range NGK plug and you're good to go.
