New Engine, Ran for one day, now the clutch is not working.

I can easily get the small sprocket off w/o a removal tool (which is good sense I don't have one )... so if I'm not mistaken inside that notch of the small sprocket there is supposed to be a small piece of metal?

Yes there should be a small piece of metal that goes in the notch on the gear to the notch on the crank shaft.. When you go get a replacement make sure you take your gear and whatever piece of the key that you have left so they can help you get the right one.

I can get the small sproket off w/ no problem, I see the little slot where the key is suppose d to be now and it is empty, so does this mean I need to run up to ACE and ask for a 3/16 woodruff key?

I So Fixed It Thank You Soooo Much :-d :-d :-d!

I went to home depot and got the right sized key

hey all, well my mate has my old 48cc.

it seems that it's permanently locking into 'on' position with the clutch, it won't disengage at all
it has the bearing inside the motor and there is no tension at all on the clutch arm. i tried filling the clutch arm/pin hole with wd40 to try and get the bering loose again, but no luck i'm wondering if it is something else ?
