Hey guys, long time lurker and have been gathering ideas for a board track racer tribute bike. I have mechanical and fabrication experience, have restored two Japanese bike nut and bolt and build a motorized bike from scratch. So pretty good on the mechanical of things. But with the Board track tribute, I am in between building a frame from scratch, or getting a klunker or something similar and cutting the down tube and weld a drop loop in its place. Or can you guys recommend another frame other than a klunker. Also, I am thinking wheels need.to come first. What hubs should I be looking for as well as wheel size? Sorry for the noob questions.
Thanks guys

Worksman are still making the wheels 100 years later... What I like...

I have never ordered any of these some are 4" wide tires some are 2.125- 2.50 but if you want a retro board tracker... This is what I've been looking at... One is a V twin 2 stroke... That's unique and I've never seen before just now and I was looking at these a week ago...

You know you want to build it yourself. If you build it, it will run.

Welcome aboard the crazy train. I'm Karl, and I'm a CG junkie. We have meetings every Tuesday and Thursdays. Wait, wrong forum. We'll see you there soon,

Welcome aboard!!

There are bad drivers every where. If you use the techniques showed in these 3 videos it'll greatly reduce the chances of you being in an accident. Being a good MB'er starts with being a good cyclist first.

Other helpful things are front/rear signal lights and a brake light that can be seen in daylight hours. Sadly many drivers today don't know what hand signals mean. Other things you should have is mirrors and a loud horn that can be heard inside of a closed compartment vehicle.

One of the biggest things that gets MB'ers hurt is not understanding the far right law. What this law means is a cyclist/MB'er is to ride to the far right if the lane is wide enough that a motorists can pass a cyclist/MB'er with a clearance of 3 feet without having to change lanes. This is known as lane sharing. If the lane isn't wide enough for lane sharing the the cyclist/MB'er has the right to use the entire lane. Therefore the safest place for a cyclist/MB'er in narrow lanes is in the center of the lane. This is called lane control.

The problem with riding to the far right in narrow lanes is it encourages motorists to do squeeze bys when passing. If you use lane control a motorist has to change lanes to pass; just like they'd have to do with any other slow moving vehicle.

One should fully and completely obey all the traffic laws. STOP signs and Red lights mean come to a stop.
