I found this in the forums regarding points and spark plug gap for an H model…Points Gap .012" - .015" S/P Gap .023" - .025". I think the engine I have is a J model, are the specs the same? I need to find a shop manual.

Sounds about right for ignition stuff. If not it'll get ya close.

I got it running! After who knows how many years. Just had to clean the fuel path, chase down a spark issue, and spot weld a bracket on the gas tank. At some point, I’ll pull it apart and do a recommission/ refurb. I’m not going to restore it, I like the original paint and patina. This is going to make a perfect swap meet bike. Yay!

Congratulations! That's always awesome to hear an engine fire for the first time in a who knows how long. Especially when you can tell it hasn't been run in decades.

Well you most definitely found the right place to hang around if you want to restore that bike. The fellas here with Whizzers know just about all there is to know about them.
