Hello, new here and new to the whole motorized bike “scene.” Anyway I just got one of those $100 80cc engine kits and every went smoothly installing the motor. My problem is when I take the spark plug out, it feels like the engine wants to turn over and fire, but when I put the spark plug back in, it just sounds quite, like nothing is happening. It’s a brand new motor so I don’t know what’s going on. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome, We would love to help ya with starting your new Motor.
Ya really didn't say if ya got a spark or not. Do you have a Spark?

You adjusted the clutch lever to have a slight bit of play when released?

Have you tried pedaling it with the clutch pulled in, up to about 5~7 mph, and then released the clutch?

It should when you release the clutch lever start making "putt-putt-putt-putt noises, it may not start but if it's taking effort to pedal while making a putt-putt-putt-putt noise it should have some compression.

Make sure you have well mixed 30:1 premix gasoline/oil in the tank, the tap is turned on and that the filter area smells of gasoline when you choke and pedal it forwards. If there's spark, fuel, and compression, it should start making running noises.
