New Motor Mounts

    I took the time this evening to build a new front motor mount for my new HT engine. Here's a pic: mount1.jpg

    These are two heavy L brackets (4" wide) that I found in the Lowe's building material area. Very cheap but thick, strong metal. I trimmed the overlapping edge a bit and they are connected by 4 big nuts and bolts (1/2") that I will permanently fix with red locktite. That's a 1 1/2" muffler clamp that will grab the downtube. I'll probably attach the motor to the backplate with at least a 5/16" grade 8 bolt combo.

    Where was that when I needed it for my diy shift kit. Not bad.

    Those look like teco plates, for wood looks kinda like the mount they sell on SBP, with the muffler clamp.
