New to Forum & Need Help

Hi,

New member and I need help. I was given this bike and wondering if it was a motorized bike at one time and what kind of bike is it? Serial #C38777 on the bottom of the crank pedal.

Any guess as to the age of the bike? Thanks in advance and I think I will restore the bike, where should I go for parts and what brand should I look for? Many thanks to all.

You'll need good brakes,
if it were me
I would look for front shocks, and a derailer to keep chain adjusted.
new chain ect,,, unless this bike has sentimental value ....try again...IMOP.

I am near Cincinnati, Ohio. I thought I could make it a neighborhood rider, nothing fancy and don't want to spend a bunch.... thanks for the info.... any idea what it is?

my best guess is its from the late 50 early 60 but i can not identify the rear stays or frame. sorry.

Looks like a Monark to me.

having a skiptooth drivetrain usually make the date prewar. (mid 1940's & earlier)
