Hey y'all, I was told this place is where to go for advice. I'm a bicycle mechanic by trade, and over the past couple years I've gotten into 2stroke builds. My current rig is nice, but I can't take a hand off of the bars at over 40mph. I'm looking for a more stable frame for speeds in the 40s to low 50s . I'm also considering welding on a steering stabilizer. Aluminum frames scare me yet they definitely have better geometry. I know I'm limited by the mtb frame I have now. If anyone has experimented with custom frames I can get something custom made. Let me know if there's any information y'all need that I've left out, and thanks in advance for any answers!

I'm looking for a motorcycle, but thats just not the same as a bicycle. I've probably dropped over a thousand in parts by now. The thing that I think holds these bikes back is the brakes, gotta have good brakes. A custom frame is definitely something I'll look into! Good advice.
A 40+ cruising bike is doable, but as you may have already realized it is gonna cost quite a bit.

I can cruise comfortably currently at 47mph. I just want to not need both hands, but this isnt a motorcycle. I'm starting to think what I have now is good enough. I'm just scared of aluminum flames and yet they'd be a great upgrade if they work. I've purchased every upgrade and part I could get my hands on which has cost me quite enough for now!

Could you post a picture of your current bike?
