I just registered today 1/2/08. My younger brother built a motorized bike from a Schwinn cruiser and I caught the bug immediately. He installed one of those Chinese 49cc engines from ebay. It's pretty cool.

I bought a Schwinn cruiser off of Craig's List and ordered an ebay engine and have recently installed it. It certainly is a lot of fun to ride. My problem: trying to read the RCW's of Washington are like reading Hungarian. I believe that they are illegal to ride around the streets-but I'm not entirely sure. I called a Dept. of Licensing employee and they told me, "If it's less than 50cc and does under 30 mph on the flats-then it's legal." However, a Wash. State Patrol website returned an e-mail stating that it must have lights, blinkers, mirrors etc. and THEN be inspected. I'm confused.

Can anyone in Washington straighten this out for me? I'd appreciate it!

Thanks,
