North Texas looking to build an electric bike/trike

I live in the DFW area and am looking, like most people , to save gas for either a short commute to work, (5 Miles), or to run errands with. I have plenty of mechanical experience, I have worked on bowling pinsetters and copy machines, as well as do my own auto service.
