Not pedaling up to speed first on a 48 tooth. Excessively bad for clutch?

Centrifugal clutch

I want to know peoples experience with this. I bought a kit from gasbike.net and find the extended crank set that came with it to be of such poor quality that pedal action is bending the pedals out of shape. To the point that my ankles bend sideways. So I'm considering giving up and just gassing it from a dead stop.

I understand this fundamentally adds extra wear, but i want to know if experienced users find to be "acceptable wear".

It means you don't have a shifter system that the engine's drive system runs through the the bicycle's gearing system by means of a shift kit to give you multiple engine driven gears to choose from.

You have a engine left side single drive ratio system. Depending on the total weight (you & the build), along with hill gradient if any; will determine how much pedal assist is needed to keep from damaging your clutch.

Due to the single ratio drive system you must give it some pedal assist.

It's due to your anemic 49cc 4 stroke that you have to help it from a stop lol. You read the description on that? Anyway, go karts use these clutches and they don't pedal to start. But what if your engine chain breaks or something? Now you can't even pedal it home?

Go karts usually use engines larger than 49cc and more powerful than 1.6 hp along with much higher torque.

Let the truth be known that kit probably used the 2 shoe clutch instead of the stronger 3 shoe clutch. With a single ratio drive and only 1.6 hp and 1.2 ft/lb torque you'll eventually burn that cheaper 2 shoe clutch out if you don't pedal assist from starts or when going up really steep hills.
