Some HS142s don't have a governor but most do. Did you buy
the straight shaft motor? Grubee carries the non-governed, but
I believe he's the only one. It will not work with the EZM trans,
because it has a tapered shaft and is equipped with a clutch.
Where did you buy your motor? Being married means a straight
shaft HS142 with no clutch will not work with any other trans,
only the EZM. You will not be able to use a 4G belt drive, or
a any chain drive, and the largest rear sprocket will be 56 teeth.
Larger sprocket means expensive custom made. With the carb
mods you made, the motor should have enough power. I
have the q-matic with a redrilled carb jet and a 7/8 inch
exhaust. Top speed is about 30. I own the q-matic which
may have a different drive ratio than the pacesetter.
I am not sure what the final drive ratio is on the pacesetter when
combined with a 56 tooth rear sprocket. I have a 72 tooth rear
sprocket, which today is not available. You'll have to get the
pacesetter ratio from EZM if they are willing to answer your questions.
Knowing the pacesetter ratio and the number of teeth on your rear
sprocket, you should be able to guesstimate top speed. So I
can not answer your top speed question. Talk to EZM.
