Ok this is driving me nuts so please help me out!!

Sorry I meant bowl. The raised thing at the top of the black bowl is a rubber seal. if it is not sticking up well enough to get a seal you may need a new one. Grab it with your finger nail and you will see what I mean. Treatland has them for 3 bucks.

Also when I changed from my stock carb to this one and I put the throttle cable in I did it backwards. I put the cable in through the front to the back, I seen a video last night and learned it was the opposite. Now when I took the bike for a test drive the motor turned over but when I applied the throttle there was nothing. Think my putting the cable on wrong was the issue??

It probably is good. The mis connecting the cable may have affected function but I doubt it caused any leaking. I would remove the float and needle and clean everything with carb cleaner spray. Especially where the fuel comes in. and the bowl. Then reassemble and try again.

Ok I'll clean everything up. One other question. I used the thumb throttle originally but I'd love to switch to the one I bought off eBay but it's REALLY loose, so loose that'd it'd slide right off. I hope this is a common issue with a common fix, if so can you provide me with some suggestions cause I'm trying to put everything together right now. Thx

Ah crap wait OK, lol stupid phone, there's one other place to check, it may not be that bowl gasket. Check the "banjo" that the fuel line feeds to on the carb, if the weird little filter and gasket aren't in place right they bundle up when tightening that banjo, it can happen from rotating it too.

To do this properly its way easier without the fuel line attached and having the carb off on its side, line it up in the carefully and then snug the screw down.
