I'm sarum, born in Salisbury UK; once known as Sarum. My first petrol engine was a Mini Motor (I'll post a photo if I can find it) clip-on running on the rear wheel. I also owned a Cyclemotor, running inside the back wheel, and a Sampson - belt drive and by far the best; more reliable and belt drive may have been less on-or-off.
All this was 1950's.
Old age/eye sight have deprived me of my driving license, but I cherish my bike (Holdsworth/cantilever brakes/full touring panniers/gears from here to Mount Cook) which has been with me in Europe and South Africa for thousands of miles, and is now 30 years old. I'd just like to have a motor that'd take me a bit further than I feel I can manage now.
First post and all that, but I feel a bit at home - my dog is called Augie -he's mostly Fox Terrier. No foxes in New Zealand, but who cares.
